Association for Computing Machinery, Student Chapter

SSN ACM Student Chapter was set up by students of CSE department under the guidance of Dr. Chitra Babu, Prof & HOD/CSE. It was officially chartered on 24st August 2012. ACM is an international organization whose aim is "Advancing computing as a science and profession".
The official launch was on 06th March 2013 by Dr. Madhavan Mukund Professor and Dean of Studies, Chennai Mathematical Institute and Member, ACM India Council. SSN ACM student chapter was set up to facilitate all activities which aim at spreading quality computing education by setting up learning groups, organizing seminars, conducting workshops, facilitating contests and so on.
The following are the office bearers for the academic year 2017-2018.

| 12 August 2016 | SSN ACM Student Chapter organized a "C++ STL "workshop to give participants an introduction to STL (Standard Template Library). |
| 16 July 2016 | SSN ACM Student Chapter organized a "Mock Placement" for third year students. |

| 30 March 2016 | SSN Design Club came up with the first of its kind in SSN, ACM Design Meetup, wherein to nurture aspiring young designers at SSN and help them get a career by following their passion for designing. Almost 40 students participated in the programme. |
| 17 March 2016 | SSN ACM Student Chapter organized a "Code County v4.0" Programming Contest for all the students except the final year CSE and IT Students. Almost 162 students participated in the contest. |
| 04 March 2016 | SSN ACM Student Chapter organized an eminent speaker programme seminar on "Boole and Computer Science". Almost 150 students across all departments participated in the programme. |
| 27 February 2016 | An online programming contest "Code from Home v2.0" was organized in Hackerrank.com to encourage the students in coding. Almost 60 students participated. |
| 13 February 2016 | SSN ACM Student Chapter in association with Q! - SSN's Quiz Club organized a Sci - Tech Quiz Contest for students of SSN. |
| 18 & 19 September 2015 | A two day hands on workshop on Python and Machine Learning Workshop was organized for all the students. |
